I'M ALWAYS UP FOR A NEW SCIENCE EXPERIENCE. SEEING A SCAR PROBABLY QUALIFIES..sO GREAT TO HAVE YOU HOME. REST AND RECOVER IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY. ALSO, YOU CAN BE THINKING UP GOOD BOOKS FOR US TO TALK ABOUT THIS WINTER. OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU. LOVE, BARB AND STORMY.
Posted by: BARB at August 26, 2004 08:30 PMWait! Before you make your final feline decision, I have a cat (Frau Meow) who needs a good home. My new roommate is allergic and my neighbors are no longer eating cats. I'll send her up if you are interested. If Anita and Kobi Bryant had a child who also happened to be a cat, Frau Meow would be a dead ringer. She likes thighs. She has a lovely metzo-soprano meow and can also quite easily serve as a backup alarm clock, as she "sings" on the hour every hour. I like to think of her as my little grandfather clock. All that REM business is a bunch of nonsense anyway. Let me know if you DON'T want her. Otherwise, I'll put her on the train tomorrow. It might be kind of hard to reach me. I'm heading off in a few minutes to a five-day silent meditation retreat (you know, no phones, no contact with the outside world, that sort of thing). I just need to run a few errands first.
Let's see, drug store, post office and train station. She should arrive about seven thirty. My advice, give her a little space for the first month or so. If you have an upstairs, she prefers that. If she is climbing too many drapes, you might want to cut back on the catnip. Thanks so much. This means a lot to me! Robin
Posted by: Robin Russell at August 26, 2004 10:07 PMWelcome back to Bellingham, Donel and Marilyn!
I'm so happy for your continued recovery, Donel!
I must say you have some pretty entertaining blog friends--I don't think you are going to be able to quit maintaining this wonderful "thing" you have inspired! It's been such fun, so hopeful, so moving, so loving, and full of grace.
Looking forward to seeing both of your faces,

Both of you, Donal and Marilyn, have gone through an ordeal, and, I know you still have a ways to go, I look forward to learning about the blessing, the knowing or the power that is being conferred by this ordeal.
I've got to come up to Bellingham to deliver some maps on Monday. I think Jonnie is coming along. We'll call to see if you're up for a short visit.
We're grateful to have been able to blog along with you so closely. And so grateful that you did not get blogged down.
Love, Roger and Jonnie
Posted by: Roger Ridgway at August 26, 2004 10:28 PMWelcome home to you both. It's a delight to have you back with us. I knew you were in town, because, after days of rain, the sun finally came out. It must feel strange and wonderful to go back to familiar routines. Revel in normalcy.
Love,
Nancy
As I recall, one of my most favorite childhood books (Tom Sawyer) opened with the story of how Tom was able to convince the neighborhood boys to do all sorts of things with the promise that if these things were accomplished he would then show them his "mortified toe". I urge you to consider the ace in the hole you now possess.....once posted the mystery will be gone. I'm certainly not opposed to viewing the scar however, as a true friend, I hate to see you lose this opportunity for prolonging your entertainment. Love you!!! Glad you are home.
Posted by: Janet at August 27, 2004 07:53 AM#1. Would that I could.
#2. Well Prez Johnson showed his to the press and the world kept spinning. Me, I'm not that curious.
#3. Twas merely a matter of time. And by the by - do you think the drugs made your puns better or worse and is better worse or worse better??
Love and good cheer from Joe & Peggy
Posted by: Peggy Schuh at August 27, 2004 09:55 AMYes - I'm always up for scars. If Donel is comfortable with the world seeing his scar, then I think you should post it.
Welcome home, Donel! You look very cozy in your chair!

I say bring it on!
Don, it's so good to hear that you're home and healing. Godspeed on your recovery.
Love,
Eric
Looks like you are doing a great job recovering! You get 10 gold stars!!!
Keep up the good work!
And, yes, in the interest of scientific inquiry, scars are good for "show and tell"!

Posted by: Marion Brown at August 27, 2004 02:01 PMWelcome home!! I must say you looked rather dashing in your hospital robe - not many can pull that off :)
I vote to bring on the scar pictures!!
Hugs,

Posted by: Genevieve Guinn at August 27, 2004 02:32 PMI knew this would be coming. Mike was so anxious to show off his scar too! Only I hope you remember to put your shorts on before you open your robe to show the "boss" your scar!
Keep walking!

Greetings,
Scar, no scar, whatever suits you. Perhaps a technical description might suffice. In any case, don't shave off the beard!
Happy day,
Nancy
I vote yes but only if I can post this wonder ful epitaph I just read. It appears on the headstone of Joy Davidman Gresham Lewis, wife of C.S.
