Technical Matter

For those of you who are getting strange bounce-back messages from my University email account, I apologize. We have the blog set up so that any new blog comments are automatically forwarded to Jeni, Martin, mom, and I. When Charles, James and I leave Washington, we will be spending a year in Singapore so my work email has been generating an on-leave email. Some of you have received these and wondered where they are coming from. We will be taking care of that small technical glitch, but just want to apologize for the confusion. Please keep those notes coming. It is wonderful to read them to dad. Posted by Dani at August 23, 2004 01:09 PM

Thanks to you all for the frequent updates. Patti and I appreciate them. Give your dad a hug for us and keep him progressing the way he has since the operation. You all are kept in our prayers.

I'm so glad Dani and Charles were able to be in Washington (contributing to the blog, rather than reading it from Singapore) during this time. This can be added to the blessing that the more serious and urgent condition was discovered, and treated, in the course of following up on the not-quite-so-dire condition!

Okay Gang,

Enough of this lazing around. I need some techno-help and it's all your fault, Donel and Martin! Until your blog came along I was living happily in Blogfree Nirvana. Now I've seen it in action, I want it!

So I checked out the website http://www.movabletype.org/ to see what's up. Now the $4.95 a month offer with the first month free sounded real sweet. I can afford that.

What I want is to create a site for the 16 plus two of us headed to China next month. I was planning on emailing the families to tell them of our adventures but with a blog they could go and visit and maybe see photos if I could figure how to upload from a digital camera in a internet cafe.

Where do you come in? Tell me is this sounds
feasible. The website made it sound like a smart turkey could put it together and so that makes me feel confident. Gobble. Gobble.

I would love your advice. Plus it's good to think about something other than body parts, etc.

Thank you so much.

Hi Dani. I received one of your work messages and assumed the name was just a coincidence so I sent it to SPAM heaven. Sorry. I would like to have your email address.

Dear Donel and Marilyn,

I have been out of town and out of touch since your surgery, so I've had a lot of reading to do today to catch up with you. My prayers were sent your way from the cow pasture where I camped this weekend. All that dry cow XXX reconstituted itself in the rain Saturday and really made the family reunion/60th birthday party we were attending quite an interesting experience. I never watched my footsteps so carefully before!

I just wanted to check in and let Donel know that I remembered that tonight is Church Council so the Clerk will be in place and ready to take note!

I am so glad to hear that you are out of the ICU and coming along, Donel. You are so blessed to have your wonderful family close by for support and Scrabble, Marilyn!

I know you'll feel our prayers go out to you as we meet tonight at church.

OK, I'm copying the Quinn kids, but mine probably isn't as funny. Just in case it is Donel, hold the pillow over your tummy...

Why does a Canadian cross the road?
To get to the middle.

We're off to the far north tomorrow AM but will be thinking of you lots.
